“Daidarabo and Holiburn – Let’s create the sound”
March 21 – 23, 2017, 9:00-15:15
Alverton Primary School (Penzance, Cornwall, UK)
Makiko Yamamoro, Makoto Nomura, Kumiko Yabu
26 children (8-9 years old)

Supported by THE GREAT BRITAIN SASAKAWA FOUNDATION

The children tried to portray their stories “Journey of Daidarabo and Holiburn” that the children both in Mito and Penzance wrote in 2015 by “music”, “song”and “sound”. On the first day, we went up to the top of Carn Galava hill (It is said that Holiburn used to live there) to  record the experiences there in writing, sketching, drawing and played the bamboo musical instrument that the children of Mito created. The children created three different music “Carn Galva” by Uklele, bell and voice. And played Japanese traditional game “kagome kagome”, created a song “Daidarabo and Holiburn”, created sounds of the giant’s body (head, upper body, arms and legs) by using their bodies without any musical instruments
